ONE DAY
ON ROTTNEST ISLAND
THREE DAYS & TWO NIGHTS
ON ROTTNEST ISLAND
On arrival to the island, begin
your stay with a visit to the
Wadjemup Museum, where you’ll
learn about the island’s deep
Aboriginal signi昀椀cance. To connect
further, join Go Cultural Aboriginal
Tours and Experiences, where
you can take part in traditional
sand and smoke ceremonies,
hear Dreamtime stories, and learn
Noongar song and language. Don’t
forget to book your tour in advance!
Pause for lunch in the main
settlement, the Rottnest Bakery
is a favourite. As you sit beneath
the trees, soak up the island’s
relaxed vibe, and keep an eye
out for friendly quokkas and grab
that sel昀椀e.
Next, take your bike and ride over
to the Captain Hussey train for a
scenic ride through the island's
south. Disembark at Oliver Hill for
the Gun & Tunnel Tour (last tour at
2pm), where guides share Rottnest
Island’s WWII history.
This afternoon, cool off at The
Basin, a sheltered cove perfect for
swimming and snorkelling and then
as your day comes to an end, enjoy
a seafood dinner at Pinky's Rottnest
Island. Watch the sun set over the
ocean, with the Bathurst Lighthouse
in the distance and a cocktail in
hand before jumping on a ferry
back to the mainland.
Arrive on Rottnest and breathe
in the fresh ocean air as your
adventure begins. If you haven’t
brought your own bike, hire one
from Pedal & Flipper to get around
easily. Ride through the main
settlement and make your way to
the Wadjemup Bidi trail.
This 45km of walking paths
showcases headlands, inland
lakes, and sweeping coastal vistas.
Choose a self-guided hike or join a
guided walk.
For lunch, head to The Lane Café.
Relax beneath the trees, make
friends with the quokkas, and grab
that famous sel昀椀e, before checking
into your accommodation. The
Lodge Wadjemup offers a lakeside
retreat, while Samphire Rottnest
provides beachfront elegance in
the heart of Thomson Bay.
Spend your afternoon exploring
the island by bike, pausing to
discover secluded coves and
beaches, such as Little Armstrong
Bay, a short glorious stretch
of beach, protected by rocky
bookends. As the sun sets, toast
your 昀椀rst day with sunset cocktails
and sizzling seafood at Lontara.
For day two, join Charter 1 for
a snorkel and sailing adventure
aboard their luxury catamaran.
Sail into pristine bays and dive into
a snorkeller’s paradise, guided by
ROTTNEST ISLAND
ROTTNEST ISLAND ITINERARY
expert marine crew. Discover
colourful coral gardens, seagrass
meadows, and up to 400 species
of 昀椀sh. Keep watch for dolphins,
stingrays and seabirds. Refuel
with lunch in the settlement and
then see more of the island with
Segway Tours WA, who’ll lead
you off the beaten path to
discover another side to Rottnest.
In the evening, unwind over
dinner at Sunsets Bar & Dining,
a relaxed restaurant overlooking
Garden Lake.
On your 昀椀nal morning, take
your Rottnest adventure sky-high
with Skydive Geronimo. Choose
a jump from 10,000, 14,000, or an
adrenaline-pumping 15,000 feet.
Freefall for up to 60 seconds
before gliding over the island and
landing on the sands of Bickley,
Thomson, or Salmon Bay — a
breathtaking 昀椀nale.
Back on solid ground, enjoy a
relaxed lunch in the settlement
before heading to Henrietta
Rocks. Just 50 metres offshore
lies a shallow shipwreck, now a
thriving reef and snorkelling site
suitable for all experience levels.
As the sun sinks low, savour
cocktails and dinner at Isola Bar
e Cibo, soaking in the 昀椀nal golden
views across the ocean, the
perfect farewell to Rottnest.
