NORTH OF THE Swan Valley, the
Chittering region is abundant in
fresh produce, inviting you to slow
down and sample the best its
terroir has to offer. To experience
it all, traverse the Chittering Farm
Flavour Trail through the Chittering
Valley, where you’ll find a bounty of
farm fresh produce.
On your journey pick up some
juicy mandarins from Oversby’s
Citrus, collect avocados from
Avalon Orchard, and sample the
local olives, honey and goats
cheese, along with freshly baked
goods, from Bindoon Bakehaus.
Spring is arguably the best time
to visit, when the valley comes alive
with wildflowers and the Spring
Festival celebrates the year’s
harvests, but there’s plenty to enjoy
year-round.
Offering a unique overnight
experience in the Chittering region
is tiny cabin enthusiasts Heyscape.
Hole up in a secluded cosy cabin
planted on the grounds of a local
winery for a night, and wake to

incredible views of the sun rising
over Chittering’s rolling hills.
Cabins come fitted out with
queen-sized beds, an indoor
kitchenette and a generous
bathroom, as well as an outdoor
barbecue. Enjoy an outdoor bath

barrel among lush greenery and
bushland, or meander over to the
cellar door for a bespoke tasting.
There’s plenty of producers
ready to open their doors and
share their wares with visitors, and
it’s easy to spend a day driving
among farms and factories
sampling the best of Chittering.
Stop by Little Eeden Farm Honey
and taste top quality honey
straight from the hive. The Little
Eeden bees collect pollen from
the various blooms of Chittering,
meaning the honey is a real taste
of the region. Stock up on moreish
honey, as well as raw honeycomb
and honey imbued beauty soaps
and creams.
Get a feel for local produce at
the many local markets and
roadside stalls, where you’ll
find in season produce and
Chittering’s famed citrus fruits,
alongside eggs, honey, cheeses,
pickles and preserves. Visit local
berry and asparagus farms
and pick your own produce,
or explore the region’s many
wineries and breweries.
Head over to Bindoon for the
monthly Bindoon Farmers Market
for a great selection of local
produce alongside locally made
art and bespoke trinkets.
Also in Bindoon is the Bindoon
Bakehaus, an iconic local
bakery and café boasting an
array of award-winning, baked
from scratch artisan breads,
pies, pastries and incredible
sweet treats, many of which
showcase local ingredients.
Little ones will love to visit the
‘Kiddies Bakehaus’, a play bakery
complete with oven and a
baking bench, where they can
tend to fresh bread dough.
